Why book with us
Van Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We service and repair vans as well as cars, from small car-derived vans to the big panel vans that keep local trades moving. Tradespeople, delivery drivers and small fleets from Pelsall, Walsall, Walsall Wood and Brownhills use us because we give a straight answer on what the van needs and a clear quote before we start, so you can plan your week around it.
We see all the common vans on our roads. That includes the Ford Transit and Transit Custom, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Volkswagen Transporter, Vauxhall Vivaro and Renault Trafic, and the Peugeot Partner, Expert and Boxer, Citroen Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay, and Fiat Ducato. Many of these share engines and parts with each other, so the faults we find on one often turn up on its sister vans too.
We carry out Class 4 MOTs on vans up to 3,000kg design gross weight, which covers most small and medium vans. Larger vans over 3,000kg, such as many 3.5-tonne Transits and Sprinters, need a Class 7 test, which we do not do. Check the plate on your van or call us and we will tell you which test it needs. We can still service and repair the heavier vans.
Vans work harder than most cars. They carry heavy loads, do short stop-start runs and rack up big mileages, so brakes, clutches, suspension, tyres and diesel emissions parts such as DPFs and EGR valves wear faster. We service to the maker's schedule using the correct oils and parts, find the real cause of any fault first, and tell you what needs doing now and what can wait.
A garage has stood on our High Street site since 1936, and Mark has been in the motor trade for over 30 years. We give discounts to police, fire service, NHS workers and the armed forces, and we start nothing without your say-so. Call us on 01922 682200 to book your van in.

Common questions
- Can you MOT my van?
- Yes, if it is a Class 4 vehicle. We MOT vans up to 3,000kg design gross weight, which covers most small and medium vans. Vans over 3,000kg, such as many 3.5-tonne Transits and Sprinters, need a Class 7 test, which we do not do. The design gross weight is on the plate on your van, usually in the door frame or under the bonnet.
- Which vans do you work on?
- We work on all the common makes and models, including the Ford Transit and Transit Custom, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Volkswagen Transporter, Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Peugeot Partner, Expert and Boxer, Citroen Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay, and Fiat Ducato. If yours is something else, call us on 01922 682200 and ask.
- How often should my van be serviced?
- Most vans have a service interval set by mileage or time, whichever comes first, and many now use a service indicator on the dash. Vans doing short trips, heavy loads or towing work harder, so an interim service between main services is often worth it. Tell us your van and mileage and we will check its schedule.
- Will servicing my van with you affect the warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have your van serviced by an independent garage without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the work follows the maker's schedule and uses parts and oils of the right specification. We stamp your book and give you an itemised invoice as your record.
- Do you look after small fleets?
- Yes. If you run a few vans for your business, we can look after them all, keep track of when each one is due its service and MOT, and give you a straight answer on what each van needs. Call us to talk through how you would like it to work.
- Why does my diesel van keep going into limp mode?
- On a modern diesel van, limp mode is often linked to a blocked DPF, a sticking EGR valve, a boost or turbo fault, or a sensor problem. Lots of short trips make DPF problems more likely. We read the fault codes and test the parts involved before quoting, so you are not paying for guesswork.
- Do you work on vans with heavy loads or racking?
- Yes. Vans that carry tools, stock or racking put more strain on brakes, suspension, tyres and clutches. We check these carefully on every service and will tell you if wear points to the van being overloaded or a part that is not up to the job.
- Do you give discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts to police, fire service, NHS workers and members of the armed forces. Mention it when you book and bring your ID when you drop the van off. It is our way of saying thank you to the people who look after our community.
- How do I book my van in?
- Call us on 01922 682200 with your van's make, model, registration and what you need. We are at 45 High Street, Pelsall, WS3 4LT, open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 1:00. We give a clear quote and do not start work until you say yes.
