Ford Transit Servicing & Repairs Pelsall

Transit servicing and repairs from a family-run garage that knows a van off the road is money lost. We find the fault, quote it clearly and get your Transit back to work.

Why book with us

Ford Transit Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.

The Transit is the van we see more than any other in Pelsall, from early Mk7 panel vans to the latest Transit Custom and the little Connect. We service them, diagnose warning lights, replace clutches and flywheels, and do brakes, suspension and steering work. Whether you run one van for your own trade or a handful for a business in Walsall, we treat each one as a working tool that needs to be back on the road.

Transits have a few well-known weak spots. The 2.2 TDCi can suffer injector trouble and dual-mass flywheel wear, especially on vans that carry weight and do a lot of stop-start driving. Later EcoBlue engines bring AdBlue systems that can throw warnings even with a full tank, and short local trips are hard on the diesel particulate filter. Knowing these patterns helps us get to the real cause quickly rather than guessing with parts.

We start with a proper look. We read the fault codes, listen to the van, and check the obvious things first. Then we ring you with a clear quote and tell you what needs doing now and what can wait. No work is started without your say-so. Ply-lining, racking and roof bars are not a problem; we work around them, and if a job needs anything moved we tell you before you book.

Mark has been in the motor trade since leaving school, more than 30 years, and Suzi has worked as a service adviser, so you get straight answers from people who understand why the van matters. A garage has stood on our site on the High Street since 1936. Tradespeople from Pelsall, Walsall, Brownhills and Bloxwich use us because we are local, easy to talk to and open on Saturday mornings as well as weekdays.

We MOT Transits under Class 4, which covers vans up to 3,000kg design gross weight. Many larger Transits are plated at 3,500kg and need a Class 7 test, which we cannot do, though we can still service and repair them. To book your Transit in, or to talk through a fault, call us on 01922 682200. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 1:00.

Common questions

How often should I service my Ford Transit?
It depends on the engine and year, and some Transits run on a variable service light. As a rule, a van working hard every day benefits from a service at least once a year or at the mileage interval Ford sets, whichever comes first. Give us your registration and we will check the right schedule for your van.
Can you MOT my Transit?
We carry out Class 4 MOTs, which cover vans up to 3,000kg design gross weight. Many Transit Customs and Connects fall into that class. Larger Transits plated at 3,500kg need a Class 7 test, which we are not set up to do. Check the plate in the door pillar or your V5C, or call us and we will help.
My Transit judders when pulling away. What is it?
A judder from a standstill, often with a rattle at idle that goes when you press the clutch, usually points to a worn dual-mass flywheel or clutch. It is common on Transits that carry weight. We will road test it, check it properly and tell you if both parts need replacing or just one, before any work starts.
Will an independent service affect my Transit warranty?
No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have your van serviced by an independent garage without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the work follows the service schedule and uses parts and oils to the right specification. We record the work so your service history stays complete.
Do I need to take out my racking or ply-lining?
No. For a service, an MOT and most repairs we work around racking, ply-lining and roof bars. Please empty out loose tools and stock where you can so we can reach everything safely. If a particular job needs something moved, such as rear suspension work, we will tell you when you book.
Why does my Transit say AdBlue fault when the tank is full?
On EcoBlue Transits an AdBlue warning with a full tank is usually a fault in the system itself, such as a sensor, pump or heater, rather than the fluid level. Left alone, it can count down to the van not restarting. We read the fault codes and test the system so you know what has failed before you spend anything.
Can you look after more than one van for my business?
Yes. Fleet and business customers are welcome, whether you run two vans or ten. We can book them in around your work and keep a clear record of what has been done on each one, with invoices made out to your business.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts to police, fire service, NHS workers and members of the armed forces. Let us know when you book your Transit in. Just mention it when you call so we can note it on your booking. If you run vans for a business, we are happy to book several in around your work and make invoices out to your business.
How do I book my Transit in?
Call us on 01922 682200 and tell us your registration and what the van is doing. We will give you a time that suits the job. We are at 45 High Street, Pelsall, open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 1:00.
