Why book with us

SEAT Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.

We work on SEATs of all ages at our workshop on Pelsall High Street. The Ibiza and Leon are the ones we see most, followed by the Arona, Ateca and older Alhambra, along with Cupra models. We handle servicing, warning lights, brakes, clutches, DSG gearboxes, suspension and electrics on petrol and diesel engines. Mark has been in the motor trade for more than 30 years.

SEAT uses the same engines and gearboxes as Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda, so the common faults are well known. Earlier 1.2 TSI engines could stretch their timing chains, TSI engines often leak coolant from plastic water pump housings, and the 1.5 TSI can be hesitant when cold. TDI diesels need their EGR valves and particulate filters looked after, especially on short trips. We know what to check.

Our approach is straightforward. We read the fault codes, test the parts involved and road test the car, then give you a clear quote. You only pay for the fix that is needed. Many SEATs run on a variable service schedule that needs oil to the correct VW approval, which we always use and note on your invoice so your history is easy to follow.

We are a family-run garage, carrying on a tradition of a garage on this site since 1936. Mark and Suzi took over in 2023 and renovated the workshop. Drivers from Pelsall, Walsall, Rushall and Cannock use us for honest advice, clear prices and the knowledge that nothing is started without their say-so. If a job can safely wait, we will tell you.

Whether your SEAT needs a service, a repair or an MOT, we can take care of it in one visit. We test cars and light vans up to 3,000kg. Call us on 01922 682200 or drop in to 45 High Street, Pelsall, to book in. Have your registration ready and we will tell you whether a service, DSG oil change or timing belt is due.

Common questions

Do you work on SEATs and Cupras?
Yes. We work on most SEAT cars, including the Ibiza, Leon, Arona, Ateca, Tarraco, Alhambra and Mii, as well as Cupra models. Petrol, diesel, manual and DSG are all fine. If you have an electric or plug-in hybrid model, call us on 01922 682200 first and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
How often should my SEAT be serviced?
SEATs can run on a fixed annual service or a longer variable schedule the car works out itself. The variable schedule suits high-mileage motorway driving, while cars doing short trips around Walsall and Rushall are better on a fixed annual service. We will check what yours is set to and advise.
Will servicing with you affect my SEAT warranty?
No. Under UK block exemption rules, an independent garage can service your car during the warranty period, as long as the work follows SEAT's schedule and uses parts and oil to the right specification. We use oil to the correct VW approval and record every service, so your warranty stays valid.
My SEAT Ateca hesitates when cold. Is that normal?
Some cars with the 1.5 TSI engine are known to hesitate or kangaroo when pulling away from cold. Software updates and checks on sensors and the fuel system can help. We read the codes, check for updates and test the car before telling you what we think is best.
Does my SEAT have a timing belt or chain?
It depends on the engine. TDI diesels and most newer TSI petrol engines use a timing belt that must be changed on time, while older 1.2 and 1.4 TSI engines used a chain. Give us your registration and we will tell you which yours has and when it is due.
Can you fix DSG gearbox problems?
Yes, in many cases. Judder or harsh changes on the 7-speed DSG often come from clutch wear or the mechatronic unit, while the 6-speed DSG needs regular gearbox oil changes. We read the gearbox fault codes, road test the car and give you a clear quote before we start.
Can you MOT my SEAT?
Yes. We are a Class 4 MOT station, testing cars and light vans up to 3,000kg. Book the MOT alone or with a service to save a second trip. If anything fails, we explain why and quote you, and nothing is repaired without your say-so.
Do you give discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Let us know when you book and bring your ID with you. It covers servicing, repairs and MOTs on your SEAT or Cupra, and it is shown clearly on your quote, so you know exactly what you will pay before any work starts on the car.
Where are you and when are you open?
We are at 45 High Street, Pelsall, Walsall, WS3 4LT, easy to reach from Rushall, Bloxwich and Cannock. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00, and closed on Sundays. Saturday mornings suit drivers who work during the week.
