Why book with us
Vauxhall Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We work on Vauxhalls of every age, from the Corsa, Astra and Insignia to the Mokka, Crossland, Grandland, Meriva and Zafira, plus the Combo and Vivaro vans. Petrol, CDTi diesel, manual or automatic, we service and repair them for drivers in Pelsall, Walsall, Bloxwich and Great Wyrley who want honest work at a fair price. Many have done big miles and just need looking after properly, and that is what we do.
Some Vauxhall faults are very familiar to us. Corsa D petrol engines can stretch their timing chains. The Easytronic automated manual can judder and change badly. The Zafira B is known for heater blower resistor failures. The 1.9 CDTi diesel can have swirl flap and EGR faults, and diesels that only do short runs block their DPFs. We see these on cars all over Walsall, and we know where to look first.
We find the cause before we suggest a fix. We read the fault codes, check live data and test the parts in question. Then we call you, explain what we found in plain words and give you a clear price. Nothing is fitted until you say yes, and if a job can wait, we will tell you so. Guessing costs you money, so we test first and replace second.
A garage has stood on our High Street site in Pelsall since 1936, and we are the third family to run it. Mark and Suzi took it on in 2023 and renovated the workshop. Mark has been in the motor trade since leaving school, over 30 years. Suzi has worked as a service adviser. We are rated 4.8 from 55 Google reviews.
If your Vauxhall is due a service, has a warning light on, or is making a new noise, call us on 01922 682200. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00. If you run a Vivaro, see our Vivaro page for van servicing and repairs. You are welcome to call in to the workshop on the High Street and talk it through with Mark or Suzi.

Common questions
- How often should I service my Vauxhall?
- Most Vauxhalls need a service every year or every 20,000 miles, whichever comes first, though older models and some engines differ. If you mainly do short local trips, a yearly service is a good idea even if the miles are low. Give us your reg and we will check the right schedule.
- My Corsa rattles on start-up. What is it?
- On Corsa D and some Astra petrol engines, a rattle for a few seconds after a cold start often points to a stretched timing chain. Old or low oil makes it worse. It is worth looking at soon, because a chain that jumps can cause serious engine damage. We will listen to it and check it properly.
- Why does my Zafira blower only work on full speed?
- That is a classic Zafira B fault. The heater blower resistor fails, so only the top fan speed works. The resistor and its plug can overheat, so it should be fixed properly, not ignored. We replace the resistor and check the wiring and plug while we are there.
- What is an Easytronic gearbox and why does it judder?
- Easytronic is an automated manual gearbox fitted to some Corsas, Astras and Merivas. A computer works the clutch and gear changes for you. When the clutch wears or the actuator plays up, it judders, slips or changes badly. We test the actuator and clutch and give you the options.
- Will an independent service affect my Vauxhall warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules, an independent garage can service your car without affecting the warranty, as long as the work follows the schedule and uses parts and oils to the right spec. We record every service so your history stays complete.
- Do you work on the Vivaro van?
- Yes. We service and repair the Vivaro and Combo, and we MOT vans up to 3,000kg. Our Vivaro page has more detail on the faults we see on them. Vans that work hard every day need their oil and brakes looking at more often, so tell us how you use yours and we will plan the servicing around it.
- Can you fix a Vauxhall DPF warning?
- Usually, yes. A DPF warning on a CDTi diesel often comes from too many short runs. We check the sensors and readings first, then try a forced regeneration or a clean. If the filter is finished, we will tell you and price a replacement.
- Do you MOT Vauxhalls?
- Yes. We carry out Class 4 MOTs on cars and light vans up to 3,000kg. If your car fails, we explain why and give you a price before we do any repairs. You can book your Vauxhall MOT and service together, so the car is only off the road once, and we will point out anything that is close to needing attention.
- Do you give discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts to police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Just mention it when you book on 01922 682200. If you are not sure whether your role counts, just ask when you ring and we will tell you straight away. It is our way of saying thank you to the people who look after us all.
