Why book with us
Jaguar Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We service and repair Jaguar cars at our workshop on Pelsall High Street, from older X-Type and S-Type models to the XE, XF, F-Pace and E-Pace. A Jaguar is a lovely car to own, but main dealer servicing costs can put people off looking after it properly. We give you a sensible, honest alternative, with the work done to the schedule and the right oils and parts.
The jobs we see most on Jaguars are diesel related. The 2.0 Ingenium diesel, fitted to the XE, XF, F-Pace and E-Pace from around 2015, can suffer from timing chain stretch, and particulate filters block on cars used for short trips. On the earlier XF 2.2 and 3.0 diesels we see DPF and EGR trouble, and the XJ's air suspension can sag with age. Rear suspension bushes, brakes and electrical faults come up across the range too.
We always find the cause first. If your Jaguar has a warning light, we read the fault codes and test the parts before suggesting anything. If it is a rattle, a knock or a change in how it drives, we road test it and check it properly on the ramp. Then we call you, explain what we have found in plain English and give you a clear price. Nothing is done without your say-so.
A garage has stood on this site since 1936. Mark has worked in the motor trade since leaving school, over 30 years, and Suzi has worked as a service adviser, so you will get an honest answer when you call. Jaguar owners come to us from Pelsall, Walsall, Aldridge and Great Wyrley because we are family-run and we will tell you straight what needs doing now and what can wait.
We carry out Class 4 MOTs on site, so your Jaguar can have its MOT and service in one visit. Police, fire service, NHS and armed forces get a discount. To book your Jaguar in, or to talk through a noise or warning light, call us on 01922 682200 or pop in to 45 High Street, Pelsall, WS3 4LT. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5 and Saturday 8:30 to 1, and closed on Sundays.

- Timing chain stretchA rattle from the engine, mostly on start-up, and sometimes an engine warning light.
- DPF blockageA particulate filter warning light and less power, mainly on cars used for short local trips.
- Rising oil levelThe oil level creeps above the max mark, from fuel getting into the oil during DPF cleaning.

- Gear selector not risingThe rotary gear selector does not rise when the car is started, so you cannot select a gear.
- DPF and EGR problems on dieselsWarning lights, rough running and reduced power on cars that do lots of short journeys.

Common questions
- Do you service Jaguar cars?
- Yes. We service and repair Jaguar cars including the XE, XF, XJ, X-Type, S-Type, F-Pace and E-Pace, petrol and diesel. We follow your car's schedule, use oil to the right specification and reset the service indicator. Call us with your registration and we will tell you what is due.
- Will an independent service affect my Jaguar warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules, you can have your Jaguar serviced at an independent garage without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and parts and oils are to the right specification. We record the work so your history stays complete, which also matters when you sell.
- My Jaguar diesel rattles on start-up. What could it be?
- On the 2.0 Ingenium diesel, a rattle on start-up can be a sign of timing chain stretch. It should be checked soon, because a chain that keeps stretching can cause serious engine damage. We listen to the engine, read any fault codes and check the chain, then explain what it needs and what it will cost.
- What does the DPF warning mean on my Jaguar?
- It means the particulate filter is filling with soot and has not been able to clean itself, usually because of short trips. A longer run on a dual carriageway can sometimes clear it. If the light stays on, bring it in and we will read the codes and check the filter before it gets worse.
- Why has my Jaguar's oil level gone up?
- On Jaguar diesels, extra fuel is used to burn soot out of the particulate filter. If those clean-outs keep getting cut short, some fuel ends up in the oil and the level rises. Diluted oil does not protect the engine well, so it should be changed and the cause looked at.
- How often should I service my Jaguar?
- Most modern Jaguars have a variable service indicator, usually around once a year or every 16,000 to 21,000 miles depending on the model. If you mainly do short trips around Walsall, a yearly oil change is a good idea, especially on diesels. We can talk you through what suits your car.
- Can you fix XJ air suspension?
- We can diagnose air suspension faults on XJ models, including leaks from air springs, pipes and valves, and compressor problems. We find out what has failed, then give you a clear price before doing anything. An air suspension leak is worth checking early, because a struggling compressor can fail if it is left running non-stop to keep the car level.
- Can you MOT my Jaguar?
- Yes. We carry out Class 4 MOTs on site for cars and light vans up to 3,000kg, which covers Jaguar cars including the F-Pace. You can book your MOT and service on the same day. If your car fails on something small, such as a bulb or a wiper blade, we can usually sort it there and then. For anything bigger we explain the fail, give you a clear price and only go ahead once you say yes.
- Do you offer discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and the armed forces. Let us know when you book your Jaguar in. The discount applies to servicing, MOTs and repairs carried out at our workshop in Pelsall. If you are not sure whether you qualify, give us a ring on 01922 682200 and Suzi will happily explain how it works.
