Why book with us

Land Rover Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.

We work on Land Rover and Range Rover models: the Discovery, Discovery Sport, Freelander, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Evoque, Velar and Defender. Diesel or petrol, coil or air suspension, we service and repair them for owners in Pelsall, Walsall, Great Wyrley and Cannock who want proper care without dealer prices. Many are used for towing, family trips and the odd muddy lane, which all take a toll on suspension and brakes.

Land Rovers have some well-known weak spots. Air suspension compressors, air springs and height sensors wear, so the car sits low after standing. Cooling hoses and plastic parts leak with age, and oil leaks from rocker covers and sumps are common on the older V6 and V8 engines. Ingenium diesels in later models can stretch their timing chains, and diesels doing short runs block their DPFs.

We start every job by finding out what is really wrong. We read the fault codes across the car's many modules, check live data and test the parts in question. Then we call you, explain it plainly and give you a clear price. Nothing gets done without your say-so, and we will tell you if something can wait. We would rather fix the right thing once than guess and have you back again next week.

A garage has stood on our High Street site in Pelsall since 1936, and we are the third family to run it. Mark and Suzi took it on in 2023 and renovated it. Mark has been in the motor trade since leaving school, more than 30 years, and Suzi has worked as a service adviser. Our customers rate us 4.8 from 55 Google reviews.

If your Land Rover is sitting low, showing a warning, or due its service, call us on 01922 682200. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00. Give us your reg and mileage and we will talk through what it needs. You can also pop in to the workshop on the High Street and have a chat with Mark or Suzi.

Common questions

Why is my Land Rover sitting low in the morning?
On models with air suspension, sinking overnight usually means an air spring or pipe is leaking, or the valve block is letting air out. A tired compressor then has to work harder and can burn out. We test the system to find the leak and replace only the part that has failed.
How often should my Land Rover be serviced?
Most Land Rovers need a service every year or at a set mileage, often between 13,000 and 21,000 miles depending on model and engine. Heavy use, towing or short trips may call for more frequent oil changes. We will check the schedule for your car and advise you.
Will using an independent garage affect my Land Rover warranty?
No. Under UK block exemption rules, an independent service keeps the manufacturer's warranty valid, as long as it follows the schedule and uses parts and oils to the right spec. We record everything we do, so your service history stays complete.
My Range Rover is leaking oil. Is that normal?
Small weeps are common on older V6 and V8 engines, often from the rocker cover gaskets or sump. They should not be ignored, as oil dripping on hot exhaust parts can smoke and smell. We clean the area, trace the leak to its source and quote for the right fix.
Is the timing chain a problem on Ingenium diesels?
Some 2.0 Ingenium diesels, fitted to models such as the Discovery Sport and Evoque from around 2015, have suffered timing chain stretch. Regular oil changes with the correct oil help. A rattle or a warning light should be checked quickly. We can listen to it and read the timing data.
Can you fix a DPF warning on my Land Rover?
Often, yes. Diesels used mainly for short local trips struggle to burn off the soot in the filter. We check the sensors and readings, then try a forced regeneration or a clean. If the filter is finished, we will tell you and price a replacement.
Can you MOT a Land Rover?
Yes. Land Rover and Range Rover cars take a Class 4 MOT, which we carry out. Commercial versions, such as van-bodied Defenders, with a design gross weight over 3,000kg need a Class 7 test, which we do not do. If you are unsure, give us a call.
Do you work on older Defenders and Discoverys?
Yes. We work on older Land Rovers as well as newer ones, including servicing, brakes, suspension and leak repairs. Call us with your model and year and we will talk it through. Older models are simpler in many ways, but rust, leaks and worn suspension bushes are the things we look at most closely.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts to police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Mention it when you call 01922 682200 to book. If you are not sure whether your role counts, just ask when you ring and we will tell you straight away. It is our way of saying thank you to the people who look after us all.
