Why book with us
Ford Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
Ford is one of the most common makes we see. We work on the Fiesta, Focus, Puma, EcoSport, Kuga, Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy, and on the Ranger, Transit Connect, Transit Custom and full-size Transit. Petrol EcoBoost, TDCi and EcoBlue diesels, manual or automatic, we service and repair them for drivers across Pelsall, Walsall, Bloxwich and Rushall. Many are family cars and work vans that simply need to be reliable, and that is how we treat them.
Some Ford faults are well known. The 1.0 EcoBoost runs its timing belt inside the engine oil, and as it ages it can break up and starve the engine of oil. The PowerShift dual-clutch automatic in the Fiesta and Focus can shudder and hesitate. Diesels doing short runs clog their DPF, and manual diesels wear out clutches and dual-mass flywheels.
We start by finding out what is really wrong. We read the fault codes, look at live data and test the parts before we recommend a repair. Then we call you, explain it in plain English and give you a clear price. Nothing is done without your say-so, and we will tell you if a job can wait. We would rather spend time finding the fault than fit parts on a hunch.
A garage has stood on our High Street site in Pelsall since 1936, and we are the third family to run it. Mark and Suzi took it on in 2023 and renovated it. Mark has been in the motor trade since leaving school, more than 30 years, and Suzi has worked as a service adviser. Customers rate us 4.8 from 55 Google reviews.

Common questions
- What is the 1.0 EcoBoost wet belt problem?
- The 1.0 EcoBoost, fitted to many Fiestas, Focuses and other Fords since 2012, has a timing belt that runs in engine oil. As it ages it can swell and shed bits into the oil, which can block the oil pickup and cause low oil pressure. Using the right oil and changing the belt on time matters. We can check yours.
- How often should I service my Ford?
- Most modern Fords need a service every year or every 10,000 to 12,500 miles, whichever comes first, though some models have longer intervals. If you do lots of short trips, a yearly oil change is wise even if the miles are low. We will check the right schedule for your car.
- Why does my Fiesta or Focus automatic judder?
- Many automatic Fiestas and Focuses from around 2010 to 2018 use the PowerShift dual-clutch gearbox, which is known for shudder and hesitation when pulling away. The cause can be the clutch pack, seals or the control unit. We read the codes and test it before suggesting anything.
- Will an independent service affect my Ford warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have your car serviced by an independent garage and keep the warranty, as long as the service follows the schedule and uses parts and oils to the right spec. We record everything we do.
- Do you work on Transit vans?
- Yes. We service and repair the Transit Connect, Transit Custom and full-size Transit, and we MOT vans up to 3,000kg. Heavier Transits need a different MOT class that we do not test, but we still service and repair them. Our Transit page has more.
- My Ford diesel vibrates at idle. What could it be?
- On manual diesels, a rattle or vibration at idle, or a judder when pulling away, often points to a worn dual-mass flywheel. It is usually changed at the same time as the clutch. We will check it on the ramp and tell you what is worn.
- Can you clear a Ford DPF warning?
- Often, yes. A DPF warning usually means the filter has not had chance to burn off its soot, typically from short trips. We check the sensors, then try a forced regeneration or a clean. If the filter is beyond saving, we will tell you and give you a price.
- Do you MOT Fords?
- Yes. We carry out Class 4 MOTs on cars and light vans up to 3,000kg. If your Ford fails, we explain why and quote for the repair before doing anything. You can book your Ford MOT and service together, so the car is only off the road once, and we will point out anything that is close to needing attention.
- Do you offer discounts?
- Yes. Police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces get a discount with us. Mention it when you call 01922 682200. If you are not sure whether your role counts, just ask when you ring and we will tell you straight away. It is our way of saying thank you to the people who look after us all.
