Why book with us
BMW Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We work on BMW cars of all ages, from the 1 Series and 3 Series to the 5 Series, X1, X3, X5 and Z4. Petrol or diesel, saloon, Touring or SUV, we service them, find faults and fix them. Drivers bring their BMWs to us from Pelsall, Walsall, Bloxwich and Brownhills because they want dealer-level care without dealer-level waiting and paperwork.
A few problems come up again and again on BMWs. The N47 diesel in many 1, 3 and 5 Series cars can wear its timing chain, which shows up as a rattle on a cold start. Plastic cooling parts such as expansion tanks and hoses get brittle with age, and petrol models with an electric water pump can overheat with little warning. Diesels that mostly do short runs often clog their particulate filter.
We start every job by finding out what is really wrong. We read the fault codes, look at live data and test the parts in question before we suggest anything. Then we ring you, explain what we found in plain English and give you a clear price. Nothing gets fitted or replaced until you have said yes, and we will tell you if something can safely wait.
A garage has stood on our High Street site since 1936. We are the third family to run it. Mark and Suzi took it on in 2023 and renovated it, and Mark has been in the motor trade since leaving school, more than 30 years. Suzi has worked as a service adviser, so she knows how to keep you in the loop. We hold a 4.8 rating from 55 Google reviews.
If your BMW is due a service, has a warning light on, or just does not feel right, call us on 01922 682200. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00. We also look after BMW Motorrad bikes, so if you ride as well as drive, we can help with both. You can also pop in to the workshop on the High Street and have a chat with Mark or Suzi.

Common questions
- Will servicing my BMW with you affect the warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have a new car serviced by an independent garage without losing the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the work follows the service schedule and uses parts and oils to the right spec. We do exactly that, stamp your service book or record the service, and give you a full list of what was done.
- How often should my BMW be serviced?
- Most modern BMWs use condition-based servicing, so the car tells you when oil, brakes and other items are due. As a rough guide that is about once a year or every 10,000 to 18,000 miles, depending on model and how you drive. Short trips wear oil faster. We can check what your car says is due and advise you.
- My BMW diesel rattles on a cold start. Is that the timing chain?
- It might be. The N47 diesel fitted to many 1, 3 and 5 Series cars from around 2007 is known for timing chain wear, and a rattle from the back of the engine on start-up is the classic sign. It should not be ignored, because a chain that breaks can wreck the engine. Bring it in and we will listen to it and check it properly.
- Can you reset the service light on my BMW?
- Yes. When we service your BMW we reset the service reminder so the dashboard shows the next items due. If you have had work done elsewhere and the light was not reset, we can usually sort that too, though we will want to know what was actually done so the reminders stay honest.
- Why does my BMW keep losing coolant?
- BMW uses a lot of plastic in the cooling system. Over time the expansion tank, hose joints and thermostat housing can crack or weep, often with no puddle on the ground. Some petrol models also have an electric water pump that can fail. We pressure test the system to find the leak before replacing anything.
- Do you use genuine BMW parts?
- We use parts that meet BMW's spec, which can be genuine BMW or quality parts from the same makers that supply BMW. We will tell you which we are fitting and why. If you would rather have genuine parts only, just say and we will price it that way.
- Do you MOT BMW cars?
- Yes. We carry out Class 4 MOTs on cars and light vans up to 3,000kg, which covers BMW cars and the X models. If your car fails, we will explain why and give you a clear price for the repair before anything is done.
- Do you work on BMW motorbikes too?
- Yes. We service and repair BMW Motorrad bikes and have a motorbike lift in the workshop. We also carry out Class 2 MOTs on bikes over 200cc, so we can test, service and repair your BMW bike. See our BMW motorbike page for more.
- Do you offer any discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Just mention it when you book your BMW in by calling 01922 682200, and bring your ID card along when you drop the car off. If you are not sure whether your role counts, just ask when you ring and we will tell you straight away. It is our way of saying thank you to the people who look after us all.
