Why book with us
Renault Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We work on Renaults of all ages at our workshop on Pelsall High Street. The Clio, Captur and Megane are the ones we see most, along with the Kadjar, Scenic and Twingo. We handle routine servicing, warning lights, brakes, clutches, suspension and electrical faults, on petrol and diesel engines alike. Mark has been in the motor trade for more than 30 years, so French cars hold no fear for us.
Renaults have a few habits worth knowing about. The 1.5 dCi diesel is a common engine and generally tough, but injectors, turbos and the particulate filter all need attention as the miles build. Some of the 1.2 TCe turbo petrol engines can start using oil. Keycard readers can stop recognising the card, and coil springs on some Megane and Scenic models are known to snap. We know what to look for.
Modern Renaults lean heavily on electronics, so finding a fault properly matters. We read the fault codes, test the parts involved and work out what is actually wrong before we quote. That means you do not pay for a sensor or module that turns out to be fine. If a warning light comes on and you are not sure whether it is safe to drive, give us a ring and we will advise you.
We are a family-run garage. Mark and Suzi took over in 2023 and renovated the workshop, carrying on a tradition of a garage on this site since 1936. Drivers from Pelsall, Walsall, Rushall and Walsall Wood use us because we explain things in plain English, give a clear price and never start work without the customer's go-ahead. We also stamp your service history, which helps when you come to sell.
Whether your Renault needs a service, a repair or its MOT, we can sort it in one place. We test cars and light vans up to 3,000kg. Call us on 01922 682200 or drop in to 45 High Street, Pelsall, to book a time that works for you. Have your registration handy and we can tell you what your car is due.

Common questions
- Do you work on Renaults?
- Yes. We work on most Renault cars, including the Clio, Captur, Megane, Kadjar, Scenic and Twingo, plus the Kangoo. Petrol and diesel, manual and automatic are all fine. If you are not sure about yours, call us on 01922 682200 and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
- My Renault keycard is not being detected. What can I do?
- First try the spare card and, if you have one, replace the card battery. If neither works, the reader in the car may be at fault. We can test the card and the reader and tell you what is wrong before quoting. It is a common Renault problem and usually fixable without a trip to a dealer.
- How often does my Renault need a service?
- Most Renaults have a service interval of one year or a set mileage, whichever comes first, though some newer models use a longer variable interval. If you do mostly short local trips, an annual service is a sensible minimum. We can check the right schedule for your car from the registration.
- Does my Renault have a timing belt or a chain?
- It depends on the engine. Some, like many 1.5 dCi diesels, use a timing belt that must be changed on time, while others use a chain. Getting it wrong can mean serious engine damage. Give us your registration and we will tell you which yours has and when it is due.
- Will an independent service affect my Renault warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules, an independent garage can service your car during the warranty period, provided the work follows the manufacturer schedule and uses parts and oil to the right specification. We do that and record the service, so your history stays complete and helps resale value.
- Why is my Renault diesel losing power?
- Common causes are a blocked particulate filter, a sticking EGR valve, a turbo fault or worn injectors. Lots of short trips around Walsall make filter and EGR problems more likely. We read the fault codes, test the likely parts and find the real cause, so you only pay for the repair that is needed.
- Can you MOT my Renault?
- Yes. We are a Class 4 MOT station, so we test cars and light vans up to 3,000kg. You can book your MOT on its own or together with a service. If anything fails, we explain why and give you a quote, and nothing is repaired without your say-so.
- Do you give discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Mention it when you book and bring your ID when you drop the car off at our workshop on Pelsall High Street. It applies to servicing, repairs and MOTs on your Renault, and we show it clearly on your quote so there are no surprises when you collect the car.
- When are you open?
- We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00, and closed on Sundays. Call us on 01922 682200 to book or ask a question. If you cannot get to us during the week, Saturday mornings are a good time to drop your Renault in for a check or an MOT.
