Why book with us
Mazda Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We service and repair Mazda cars at our workshop on Pelsall High Street, from the small Mazda2 to the CX-5 and the much-loved MX-5. Mazdas are well made and pleasant to drive, and the Skyactiv petrol engines are generally reliable. Like any car, though, they have a few known weak spots, and most of them can be kept in check with regular servicing and an eye on the oil.
The Mazda job we see most is the 2.2 diesel in the Mazda6, Mazda3 and CX-5. On short trips its particulate filter does not get hot enough to clean itself, and the extra fuel used to burn it off can end up in the oil, making the level rise. That needs proper attention, not just a top-up. We also see MX-5s with rust on the sills and rear arches, blocked roof drains, and suspension wear on all models.
We always find the cause before we quote. If your Mazda has a warning light, we read the fault codes and check the parts behind them. If it is a noise, we road test it and look underneath on the ramp. Then we call you, explain what we have found in plain English and give you a price. Nothing is done without your say-so, and we will tell you what can wait.
A garage has stood on this site since 1936, and Mark has been in the motor trade since leaving school, over 30 years now. Suzi's background is as a service adviser, so you can expect clear answers on the phone. Drivers from Pelsall, Walsall, Great Wyrley and Brownhills use us because we are family-run and do not push work that is not needed.
We carry out Class 4 MOTs on site, so your Mazda can have its MOT and service on the same day. Police, fire service, NHS and armed forces get a discount. To book your Mazda in, or to talk through a problem, call us on 01922 682200 or call in at 45 High Street, Pelsall, WS3 4LT. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5 and Saturday 8:30 to 1, and closed on Sundays.

- Injector seal leaksA diesel smell, a ticking or chuffing sound from the top of the engine, and soot around the injectors.

Common questions
- Do you service Mazda cars?
- Yes. We service and repair most Mazda models, including the Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3, CX-30, CX-5 and MX-5, petrol and diesel. We follow your car's service schedule and use oil to the right grade. Call us with your registration and we will tell you what is due.
- Will an independent service affect my Mazda warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can have your car serviced by an independent garage without losing the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and the parts and oils are to the right specification. We record the work in your service history.
- Why is the oil level going up on my Mazda diesel?
- On the 2.2 Skyactiv-D, extra fuel is used to burn soot out of the particulate filter. If the clean-out keeps getting cut short by short trips, some of that fuel ends up in the oil and the level rises. Thin, diluted oil does not protect the engine well, so it needs changing and the cause looking at. We can check it for you.
- What does the DPF light mean on my Mazda?
- It means the particulate filter is getting full of soot and has not been able to clean itself. A good run on a dual carriageway can sometimes clear it. If the light stays on, or you also have a loss of power, bring it in and we will read the codes and check the filter before it becomes a bigger job.
- Do you work on the MX-5?
- Yes. We service and repair MX-5s of all ages. As well as the usual service, we check the sills and rear arches for rust, clear the roof drains and look at the hood, brakes and suspension. Older MX-5s are well worth a yearly look underneath to catch rust early.
- How often should I service my Mazda?
- Most Mazdas are due a service every year or every 12,500 miles, whichever comes first, but check your handbook or service reminder. Diesel owners who do short trips around Pelsall and Walsall may benefit from more frequent oil changes, and we can talk you through that.
- Why has my Mazda stop-start stopped working?
- Mazda's i-stop system needs a healthy battery to work, so the most common cause is a battery that is getting tired. We can test the battery and charging system and read any fault codes. Stop-start cars need the right type of battery, which we will explain before fitting one.
- Can you MOT my Mazda?
- Yes. We carry out Class 4 MOTs on site for cars and light vans, including every Mazda model. Book it alongside a service to save a second visit. If your car fails on something small, such as a bulb or a wiper blade, we can usually sort it there and then. For anything bigger we explain the fail, give you a clear price and only go ahead once you say yes.
- Do you offer any discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and the armed forces. Just let us know when you book. The discount applies to servicing, MOTs and repairs carried out at our workshop in Pelsall. If you are not sure whether you qualify, give us a ring on 01922 682200 and Suzi will happily explain how it works.
