Why book with us
Citroën Van Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
Citroën vans are everywhere around Pelsall and Walsall, from Berlingos used by plumbers and electricians to Dispatch and Relay vans on delivery and building work. We work on the whole range. We service them, diagnose warning lights, and repair clutches, brakes, suspension, steering and engine faults. We know a van that is off the road means jobs missed, so we keep things simple and get straight to the problem.
Citroën vans share their engineering with Peugeot, so the known faults are similar. Older HDi Berlingos use a fluid additive to help the particulate filter burn off soot, and a warning appears when it runs low. The 1.6 HDi can leak at its injector seals. On newer BlueHDi vans the AdBlue system, particularly the tank and pump unit, is a common source of warnings and countdowns to a no-start.
We do not guess. We read the fault codes, test the system that is complaining and check the simple causes first. Then we phone you with a clear quote and tell you honestly what needs doing now and what can wait. Nothing goes ahead without your say-so. Racking, ply-lining and roof bars are fine left in place for servicing and most repairs.
There has been a garage on our High Street site since 1936, and we are the third family to run it. Mark has spent over 30 years in the motor trade, since leaving school, and Suzi has worked as a service adviser and in customer support. Drivers from Walsall, Bloxwich, Rushall and Great Wyrley use us because we are local, straight-talking and open on Saturday mornings.
Berlingos and most Dispatch vans are plated under 3,000kg, so we can MOT them as Class 4. Many Relays are plated at 3,300kg or 3,500kg, which makes them Class 7, and we cannot test those, but we can still service and repair them. Check your plate or V5C, or ask us. Call 01922 682200 to book. We are open weekdays 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 1:00.

Common questions
- How often should I service my Berlingo?
- It depends on the year and engine, and many Berlingos show the next service on the dash. For a van used every day for work, a service at least once a year or at the set mileage, whichever comes first, keeps it reliable. Tell us your registration and we will check the right schedule.
- Can you MOT my Citroën Relay?
- Only if it is plated at 3,000kg design gross weight or less, which is a Class 4 test. Many Relays are plated at 3,300kg or 3,500kg, making them Class 7, which we cannot test. Berlingos and most Dispatch vans are Class 4. Check the plate or your V5C, or call us to check.
- Why is my Dispatch showing an AdBlue warning?
- On BlueHDi Dispatch vans, AdBlue warnings are common and are often down to a fault in the tank and pump unit rather than low fluid. If ignored, the van counts down to a point where it will not restart. We read the codes and test the system so you know what has failed before paying for parts.
- What is the additive warning on my Berlingo?
- Some HDi Berlingos have a small tank of additive that helps the particulate filter burn off soot. When it runs low a warning comes on and the filter can start to block. We top it up, reset the system and check the filter is clearing as it should.
- Will an independent service affect my warranty?
- No. Under UK block exemption rules you can use an independent garage for servicing without affecting the manufacturer's warranty, as long as the schedule is followed and parts and oils meet the right specification. We record the work so your service history stays complete.
- Is a Citroën Relay the same as a Peugeot Boxer?
- Yes, they are built together, as are the Berlingo and Peugeot Partner, and the Dispatch and Peugeot Expert. They share engines, gearboxes and most parts, and we work on all of them. Because the parts are shared, they are usually easy to get hold of, which helps keep repair costs and time off the road down.
- Do I need to empty my van?
- Fixed racking and ply-lining can stay. Please take out loose tools and stock where you can, so we can reach everything safely. If a job needs something moved, we will tell you when you book. A quick clear-out also makes it easier for us to spot leaks, rust or damage in the load area.
- Do you offer discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts to police, fire service, NHS workers and members of the armed forces. Business and fleet customers are welcome too, with invoices made out to your business. Just mention it when you call so we can note it on your booking, and have your ID to hand when you drop the van off.
- How do I book my Citroën van in?
- Call us on 01922 682200 with your registration and what the van is doing. We are at 45 High Street, Pelsall, Walsall, WS3 4LT, open weekdays 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 1:00. If you are not sure what is wrong, describe what you hear, feel or see on the dash, and we will tell you how best to book it in.
