Why book with us
Triumph Motorcycle Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.
We work on Triumph motorbikes old and new, from the Trident 660 and Street Triple to the Bonneville family, Speed Triple and Tiger range. Triumph is a British make built in Hinckley, Leicestershire, so there are a lot of these bikes in the Midlands and we see them regularly. Most jobs are servicing, chains, brakes and suspension, along with electrical fault finding when something stops working.
The triple engine in the Street Triple, Trident and Tiger 800 and 900 is strong and smooth, but earlier Street Triple 675s are known for regulator/rectifier failures. If the battery keeps going flat or a charging warning comes on, we test the battery, charging voltage and stator output and look for heat damage on the connectors, so we replace the part that has actually failed.
The water-cooled Bonneville, Street Twin, Speed Twin, Thruxton and Scrambler models are popular classics with modern internals. They need coolant changes and valve clearance checks at the intervals in the schedule, and the spoked wheels on many models need checking for loose or rusty spokes. We look after the chrome and alloy as well as the mechanical side, telling you if winter salt is starting to take hold.
Tiger owners tend to rack up big miles, often two-up with luggage. We check wheel and steering head bearings, chain and sprockets, brakes, fork seals and the shock, and test the battery and charging system if extra accessories have been fitted. Your service book is stamped or you get a full record, so the history stays complete.
We are a family-run garage on Pelsall High Street, run by people who ride, and we host bike meets outside the workshop, so you will often find other riders here. Mark has been in the motor trade for over 30 years, and Suzi will talk you through the job and the price before anything starts. A garage has stood on this site since 1936. We see riders from Pelsall, Walsall, Aldridge and Brownhills. Call us on 01922 682200 to book your Triumph in or to talk through a problem.

Common questions
- How often should I service my Triumph?
- Triumph sets intervals by mileage and by time, so the oil and filter need changing at least once a year even if the bike does few miles. Valve clearances, coolant, brake fluid and spark plugs are due at set points in the schedule. We check the schedule for your model and year so you know what the service covers before you book.
- My Street Triple's battery keeps going flat. Why?
- On earlier Street Triple 675s a common cause is the regulator/rectifier, although a tired battery, the stator or a poor connection can do the same thing. We test each of these in turn, check the charging voltage with the engine running and tell you exactly which part has failed before we order anything.
- Do you work on older air-cooled Bonnevilles?
- Yes. We work on the earlier air-cooled Bonneville, Thruxton and Scrambler models as well as the newer water-cooled bikes. With older bikes we look closely at the brakes, wheels, spokes, charging system and anything rubber that has perished with age.
- Can you service my Tiger before a long trip?
- Yes. Book it in a few weeks before you go. We service it, check the tyres, chain, brakes, bearings and battery, and tell you about anything that might not last the trip, so there is time to sort it before you leave.
- Do you MOT motorcycles?
- Yes. We carry out Class 2 MOTs on motorbikes over 200cc, including your Triumph. Call us on 01922 682200 to book a bike MOT, as these are not bookable online. We can service it at the same time and put right anything that would fail.
- Will a service with you affect my Triumph warranty?
- Under UK block exemption rules, an independent service keeps the manufacturer warranty valid as long as the work follows the maker's schedule and uses parts and oils to the right specification. We follow the service schedule for your model, use the correct grade of oil and stamp your book or give you a full written record. Recall and warranty repairs themselves still need to go through a dealer.
- Do you have the right setup to work on bikes?
- Yes. We have a motorbike lift in the workshop, so your Triumph is held securely at a good working height rather than being worked on at floor level on a paddock stand. That makes jobs like wheel removal, fork work and chain changes safer and easier, and it lets us look properly underneath for leaks and wear.
- Will you give me a price before you start?
- Yes. We look the bike over, tell you what it needs now and what can wait, and give you a clear quote. Nothing gets done without your say-so. If we find something else once the work is under way, we stop and ring you before we go any further, so there are no surprises when you come to collect.
- Do you offer any discounts?
- Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Just mention it when you book and bring your ID when you drop the bike off. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00, closed on Sundays.
