Why book with us

Suzuki Motorcycle Servicing & Repairs Pelsall with clear advice.

We work on Suzuki motorbikes of every age, from older Bandits and SV650s to the latest V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8S. Suzukis are honest, hard-working bikes and many we see are well into five-figure mileages. We look after the servicing, chains, brakes and suspension, and track down electrical faults when a bike will not start or the battery keeps going flat.

The SV650 and V-Strom 650 share a V-twin that will happily run for a very long time if the oil is changed and the valve clearances are checked when due. The weak spot on older bikes is the charging system. Regulator/rectifiers and stators fail, and connectors can overheat. We test the battery, charging voltage and stator output to find which part has failed before we fit anything.

GSX-R and GSX-S owners tend to push their bikes harder, so we pay extra attention to brakes, tyres and suspension. Brake fluid gets tired quickly with hard use, fork seals start to weep, and older GSX-Rs share the same charging weak spots as the twins. We check all of this, plus the chain, sprockets and steering head bearings.

Plenty of the Suzukis we see are older bikes that have been bought cheaply and need sorting. We are happy to go over one, give you an honest list of what needs doing now for safety, what can wait and roughly where the money would go, so you can decide what to do at your own pace.

We are a family-run garage on Pelsall High Street, run by people who ride, and we host bike meets outside the workshop, so you will often find other riders here. Mark has been in the motor trade for over 30 years, and Suzi will talk you through the job and the price before anything starts. A garage has stood on this site since 1936. We see riders from Pelsall, Walsall, Bloxwich and Cannock. Call us on 01922 682200 to book your Suzuki in or to talk through a problem.

Common questions

My SV650 battery keeps going flat. What is wrong?
On the SV650 and V-Strom 650, a flat battery is very often caused by the regulator/rectifier or the stator rather than the battery itself, especially on older bikes. We test the battery, check the charging voltage with the engine running, test the stator output and look for burnt connectors, then tell you exactly what has failed.
How often should my Suzuki be serviced?
Suzuki sets intervals by mileage and time, so the oil and filter should be changed at least once a year even on a bike that does few miles. Valve clearances, spark plugs, coolant and brake fluid come up at set points in the schedule. We check your model and year when you call and explain what the service will include.
Can you get an old Bandit or GSX-R back on the road?
Often, yes. Older bikes that have been stood usually need fresh fluids, brake caliper work, a battery and sometimes carburettor or fuel system cleaning. We look the bike over first and give you an honest view of what it needs and whether it is worth doing before you spend anything.
Do you service the new V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8S?
Yes. We service the latest Suzuki models to the schedule in the owner's manual, using oil and parts to the right specification, and stamp your book so the history stays complete. Newer bikes carry more electronics, so we also read any stored fault codes and check the battery and charging system as part of the visit.
Do you MOT motorcycles?
Yes. We carry out Class 2 MOTs on motorbikes over 200cc, including your Suzuki. Call us on 01922 682200 to book a bike MOT, as these are not bookable online. We can service it at the same time and put right anything that would fail.
Will a service with you affect my Suzuki warranty?
Under UK block exemption rules, an independent service keeps the manufacturer warranty valid as long as the work follows the maker's schedule and uses parts and oils to the right specification. We follow the service schedule for your model, use the correct grade of oil and stamp your book or give you a full written record. Recall and warranty repairs themselves still need to go through a dealer.
Do you have the right setup to work on bikes?
Yes. We have a motorbike lift in the workshop, so your Suzuki is held securely at a good working height rather than being worked on at floor level on a paddock stand. That makes jobs like wheel removal, fork work and chain changes safer and easier, and it lets us look properly underneath for leaks and wear.
Will you give me a price before you start?
Yes. We look the bike over, tell you what it needs now and what can wait, and give you a clear quote. Nothing gets done without your say-so. If we find something else once the work is under way, we stop and ring you before we go any further, so there are no surprises when you come to collect.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. We offer discounts for police, fire service, NHS workers and armed forces. Just mention it when you book and bring your ID when you drop the bike off. We are open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 8:30 to 13:00, closed on Sundays.
